I am actually still on pyserial 1.20.  1.21 only has Windows fixes,
and they don't apply to BitPim anyway.  I actually do my Linux dev
on a RH8 box.

Anyway, all you need to do is copy the serial directory to 
/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages
