well that would have been a stupid typo, but I found that when i made it
/cvsroot/bitpim it still didn't work.

I then thought it was something to do with my cygwin cvs version (since i think
i may have upgraded it and got a new cvs version).  I just now upgraded again
and saw that there was a slightly newer cvs version 1.16.3.  So now it's
working and i have the updated tree.
