I have an update on my progress. I managed to get BitPim 1.0.7 to work on Windows Vista. Since the LGVN150 is not a supported phone type I used autodetect and it comes up as "Other CDMA phone" now. I am trying to get my old text messages off of the phone, but I haven't had any luck. "Get Phone Data" shows only a group of greyed out checkboxes. I can view the filesystem and I believe I have found the files that correspond to my texts, with a .*DB.vol.sys, *DB.vol.log and *DB.vol files. However the problem that I have now is that I can't download these files off the phone. BitPim says that the provider has blocked access to these files. So I'm stuck. What do I do now? I contacted Verizon and they weren't much help. Monday I will try talking to LG and see what they say. Ideas? Any and all help would be appreciated. FYI I found the original USB cable from Verizon that came with the phone and used that but nothing changed. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: DAVENPORT, MARC <mda...@co...> Date: Fri, Jan 1, 2016 at 8:31 PM Subject: BitPim fails to start To: bit...@li... Hello, I am trying to use BitPim on Windows 10 with an LG VN150 phone and a standard USB cable. I have installed the USB and Modem drivers for my phone. My issues are as such : BitPim fails to start as well as BitFling. Both give me this error message, "See the logfile 'C:\Program Files (x86)\BitPim\bitpimw.exe.log' for details." However, this file does not exist. There are no *.log files in that folder or in any of its subfolders. I will try to install the program on Windows Vista and see if the problem persists. Any advice is welcome. Thanks, Marc |
