[BitPim-user] Text Imports as Gibberish

I have an LG enV touch phone. I'm using Windows 7. I'm not sure what type of cord is used to attach the phone. BitPim says it's updated. Everything seems to work with the exception of some SMS messages being imported as gibberish symbols and letters. It will show a brief preview of the message in the Subject line, but the actual message that is supposed to be in the white box is gibberish. 
The issue appears to be associated with the same contacts time after time. I wonder if it's associated with users of Sprint phones, but I'm not certain if all of the people this problem occurs with are using Sprint or not. Is there a way to import the messages correctly like the rest of them? Other SMS messages etc import just fine. Suggestions/help? Please let me know if more info is needed.
