Alright, I've been using bitpim for a while. I used to use BitPim 0.7.35 unofficial, it worked fine for things such as ringtones, backgrounds, and filesystem (only things I tested). Then the Official version came out, ever since then, I haven't been able to get it to connect to my phone. I've tried 0.7.36-development as well, and they give me the error: COM4: could not open port(5,'Create File','Access Is Denied') Yes, I'm sure its on com4 (it shows as unavailable when you go to settings as well, but the B/T software I have won't let me change the ports, and when I enable serial comm., it gives a little message that it enabled serial comm. On COM4) Here is a log entry to go with it: 17:58:53.920 COM4: Opening port COM4, 115200 baud, timeout 3.000000, hardwareflow 0, softwareflow 0 17:58:55.913 COM4: Open of comm port failed 17:58:55.923 Error: Failed to open communications - COM4 COM4: could not open port: (5, 'CreateFile', 'Access is denied.') |

Okay, I don't even remember if this is the right place to post this stuff in

This was selecting "get phone data" and I clicked phonebook, calendar, memo,

I'm currently using 0.7.36-development
Please let me know if I'm supposed to be posting this elsewhere.

Weird, it looks like you are importing a calendar with the date set to
(4095, 15, 31, 31, 63), that translates to 31:63, an impossible time of day.
The 8100 will not let you set the date greater than 12-31-2100.
Can you send me the calendar files from your phone (privately if you wish),
this would be all the files in the "sch" directory on the phone. I'll see if
there is an error in reading them. Did you ever send a calendar to the
phone?
Can you import everything else from the phone, you can try to import one
thing at a time.

That is quite strange, how do I send them directly to you? I haven't ever sent a calendar to the phone, and I've only put one thing on the calendar if I remember correctly. I'd be more than happy to send them to you, just need to know where to send to. Yes I tried importing everything else 1 at a time and it seemed to work, I didn't do wallpapers or ringtones though, but all the others worked. I'm a little worried to do wallpapers because last time I did it (with 0.7.35-unofficial) it read all of my wallpapers just fine, then I hit delete on all of them in bitpim, cuz I was just seein if it worked. I didn't send wallpaper to the phone , yet somehow at one point or another, before or after deletion, it made all of my pictures on my phone pure white. Weird :P anyways, I got all my pics on my card, so I'll try again sometime after I back all of them up first. For now, we'll stick to my weird calendar :) Thanks, Josh -----Original Message----- From: bit...@li... [mailto:bit...@li...] On Behalf Of Simon C Sent: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 3:23 AM To: bit...@li... Subject: RE: [BitPim-user] vx8100 Weird, it looks like you are importing a calendar with the date set to (4095, 15, 31, 31, 63), that translates to 31:63, an impossible time of day. The 8100 will not let you set the date greater than 12-31-2100. Can you send me the calendar files from your phone (privately if you wish), this would be all the files in the "sch" directory on the phone. I'll see if there is an error in reading them. Did you ever send a calendar to the phone? Can you import everything else from the phone, you can try to import one thing at a time. Simon |

Josh, Thanks for the files, the problem is that you phone contains a bogus calender entry. Probably one that has been deleted. The phone has overwritten the record with all Fs. I'll add a fix for the next version of bitpim to allow for this. As a workaround you can delete the sch/newschedule.dat and reboot your phone to create a new blank file, you should then be able to sync the calendar. I tested this on my phone and it does work. Simon, Thanks a lot for helping me on this. Glad I could find something for you to add a fix to :P Josh -----Original Message----- From: bit...@li... > Weird, it looks like you are importing a calendar with the date set to > (4095, 15, 31, 31, 63), that translates to 31:63, an impossible time of day. The original field is a 32 bit bitmask. As a 32 bit value it is 0xffffffff. From the values above you can work out how many bits each field gets :-) Roger |

Haha, new problem :-)
This perhaps might be some type of overflow, or maybe I have something named
badly on the phone.
When I click on the "brew" directory to expand it, I get the following error
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.
