I have a Sanyo Katana SCP-6600. When trying to read the data from the phone I recieve an error. SCP-6600 on COM5: The phone is not responding while transitioning mode from none to phonebook. See Trouble shooting tips. I can query the modem successfully through the Device Manager. I have powered the phone down, removed the battery, disconnected and reconnected the cable several times. Nothing seems to help. I did notice in the release notes there was a bug fix for the SCP-6650 could that have an effect on this model? Suggestions? Don L. |

I will look into this. In the meantime, make sure that BitPim is using the same port that DataPilot uses. I believe that the driver creates two COM ports for this phone and perhaps only the detection of which port to use for the Katana got messed up in 1.06. I tested BitPim 1.0.6 on both Linux and Windows (XP) with the Katana (6600). On both systems BitPim was able to detect the phone at the correct port and download the phonebook. On Windows I installed the Sprint Connection manager to get the phone drivers. I am pretty sure that I have tried DataPilot drivers with this phone before. Hi, I have an LG VX-8560 - I installed bitpim 1.0.6 and tried to upload my MP3 ringtone - I was able to copy it to the /ringers folder, but after rebooting the phone it doesn't find the new ringtone. Did I put it in the right folder? In a video for the vx8500 it referenced the /brew/[number] folder, which seems not to exist on the 8560. Any tips appreciated, thanks. You need to put the ringtone in /brew/mod/10889/ringtones in order for the phone to see the new ringtone. -Nathan Hjelm On Aug 20, 2008, at 10:47 AM, ststephen wrote: > > Hi, > > I have an LG VX-8560 - I installed bitpim 1.0.6 and tried to upload > my MP3 > ringtone - I was able to copy it to the /ringers folder, but after > rebooting > the phone it doesn't find the new ringtone. > > Did I put it in the right folder?
