The powers-that-be have decreed that I will use a port
number selected from a port number range of 59000 to
59009 inclusive to run this Bird Chat Client/Server
combo on their LAN. I need a way to specify the port
number for both the client and the server.

Could the server port number be specified in a .conf
file for those of us unable to use the software default
port number 7016?

The clients could then connect by specifying not only
the IP number of the server, but also its port number,
in the format:
192.168.5.1:59003 or
matilda.mycompany.com:59003
if the server was running on port 59003

Currently, Port 7016 is hard coded into both the Bird
Chat client and server. Until this changes, I am
unable to proceed with this evaluation any further. I
feel that this software would be useful to me if this
issue was addressed.
