The menu button to the right of the address bar contains:
- New project : opens a new empty project, existing unsaved changes are lost, shortcut CTRL-N
- Open project: open an existing project, unsaved changes are lost, shortcut CTRL-O
- Save project: saves the project, shortcut CTRL-S
- Save to new file: saves the project at a new location, shortcut CTRL-A
- Open recent project: saves the project at a new location, shortcut CTRL-R
- Import: import parts of another project into the current one, shortcut CTRL-I
- Batch output: opens a dialog with all existing bookmarks and camera paths from the current project. Select bookmarks for output as screenshots and paths for output as movies and start the batch process. A click on ‘Ok’ saves the selection for later. [Screenshot] settings are used.
- Export plant instances: opens a dialog to select a vegetation or object layer for saving its instances to a csv text file with the following columns:
Longitude;Latitude;Rotation;Scale;FileName
- Undock renderer: separates the 3d view into a new window or closes the external view to show again in main window, shortcut CTRL-U
- Freeze renderer: disables the 3d view, useful for changing layers and settings without re-rendering after each single change or to stop a long computation, shortcut CTRL-F
- [Table of Content]: (re)opens a panel on the left side of the window that shows for the current project all opened data sources and other scene settings, shortcut CTRL-T
- ** Log: (re)opens on the lower left side of the window a panel for diagnostic text outputs. The panel can be switched between errors only and normal text output. It has a button to clear the log. Shortcut CTRL-L**
- Preferences: open a window with [Preferences] and [Model Viewer], shortcut CTRL-P
- Reset to factory default: set back all settings to its default values
- Help: opens this wiki in a web browser, shortcut CTRL-H
- Download latest version: opens the SourceForge download page with the newest and older versions of Biosphere3D
- About: shows the version number, contact data and all the open source projects biosphere uses
- Play/Pause: start or stop the animation, shortcut ALT-X
- Capture screenshot: save screenshot of current scene to disk, shortcut ALT-C
- Capture camera path: save all images of selected camera path to disk, shortcut ALT-P
- Configure position: opens dialog to input latitude and longitude as degree, minute and second, shortcut ALT-Q
- Configure orientation: opens dialog to add orientation and camera mode to address bar, allows to set velocity for different camera modes, shortcut ALT-W
- Configure effects: opens [Stereo - DoF] to add effect toggles to address bar and to configure stereo and depth of field effect, shortcut ALT-E
- Focal length calculator: opens [Focal Length Calculator], shortcut ALT-F
- Configure screenshots: opens [Screenshot], shortcut ALT-S
- Configure animation: opens dialog to add camera path selection to address bar and to blend between two scenarios, shortcut ALT-A
