BioMa technical specifications

Software developers intending to join BioMa team would profit from reading [BioMa technical specifications]. This section is intended to grow as we proceed developing Bioma 2.0.

Bioma 2.0

BioMa is currently available as version 0.3, based on a relational database strategy. A new version of BioMa, based on Semantic Web, is discussed in [BioMa 2.0]. This version is also referred to as BioMa(SW) at some points of this document. BioMa(SW) is still in the very first stages towards its alpha release.

In order to accomplish this migration to semantic web, BioMa 2.0 shall be based on graph technologies and databases. The section [Bioma as a graph] presents some graph solutions to typical problems in biodiversity data management. This should be taken as a blueprint for developers to implement new funcionalities and for users to record their data into Bioma 2.0.
