I am still testing 1.4, and while I am doing that, I decided to post some organisms...

This small omnivore (time 331) specialises in feeding on viruses, breaking them up with its immune system between its "mouth"

You mind showing us some info about the upcoming 1.4? :)

Well, I am testing the program, doing some long runs.
I am not completely happy with the balance yet.
    But I am making progress.

Here is a freezer plant that reproduces earlier, with the help of blond segments

I call this little fella' a 'Decomposer.'

He has a mouth that can consume the carbon of corpses. And the sides of his body kills whoever he makes contact with. ^_^ Badass...
But my favorite aspect of this guy is that he has the cyan in the back of his body to make him move. Which, in my opinion, is the best place to put it. Essentially, his 'weapons' are up front while his vulnerable 'engine' is in the back.

He naturally evolved somewhere around t=600 with all gene probabilities set to '2' and gene costs set to '0'

These guys love it when energy lost by organisms is set to 0.

I wonder whether posting an image & the organism file works...
    That's a "spiderbat":

and that's the file (Color Mod version):

        it works! :-)

What about starting a new thread with organism pictures & files?
We should label the different program versions & mods though...

I can start a new thread, after I have uploaded 1.4 (final).

Here is an organism from time 887, that illustrates why I have created the FIRE color.

These type of organisms were common in vanilla Biogenesis, but nearly non existent in early Color Mod versions.

The Firestar has far reaching FIRE arms to catch other organisms nearby, living as a carnivorous plant. Yellow segments guarantee an own child to counter virus infections.

This viral plant (time 903) protects itself with poisonous segments, thus preventing (often) that another organism can eat it completely. With the help of forest segments they tend to have some colonial behaviour.

A rotating plant with OCHRE segments, that pushes enemies away effectively. Already evolved LIME segments to gain photosynthetic advantage by having no other organism in its vicinity.

These viral plants lock each other to enhance photosynthesis with the help of their forest segments. Time = 1061.

A special organism (time 1090), this small Omnivore has a gray segment and is successful.

Like all orange organisms it can´t feed on dead organisms, but its gray segment doesn´t really prevent feeding that much but protects its flank and creates space to roam around.

Here's one I've called Triangle Tree from Color Mod 1.3. Forest inside and Bark outside, it is from near the beginning of a sim and therefore has not adapted to some consumers coming along with needles and arms to reach inside. ;)

They look nice as a "forest":
