Jim,

Today, and for probably 1-2 years now, search is translated into a SERVICE
call.  Triple patterns are pulled into that service call based on the
shared variable bindings.  However, the recommended approach is to Actually
specify the service call directly.   This will probably give you the
desired control over the ordering of the results.

I am not sure why the ordering was not obeyed.  Can you look into the
EXPLAIN of the query and see if you can identify what is going on?  I may
then be able to point you towards how to resolve the ticket.
