Jim, I believe you could do this by overriding the Analyzer Factory Class [1] with your own implementation that does not filter stopwords [2]. Other may have more specific suggestions. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could provide examples for how to set up the Blazegraph properties file to configure options for the full text search. I have looked through the various options in the JavaDoc, but I can’t quite figure out the right properties file syntax for ‘stopwords=none’. Here is what I am trying to do: I have a term in the database with rdfs:label "skeletal element of eye region”. When users search for terms, I append a “*” to their input text by default. However this is failing when the label contains a stopword like “of”. So, searching with “skeletal element of” and “skeletal element*” do find the term as a match, but “skeletal element of*” does not. Can I disable stopwords entirely? Thanks, Jim |

Jeremy, We are still on Java 7 for the moment. We have several users who have not yet migrated to Java 7. CI is run against Oracle/SUN JDK 1.7.0_79. We have run CI on Java 8 and there are not any known issues. With "mavenization" (to be previewed in open source soon), we can move to Java 8 for specific modules. This is how we're implementing the Tinkerpop 3 integration, for example. I finally got persuaded to switch to master branch and the mavenised development …. following: https://wiki.blazegraph.com/wiki/index.php/MavenNotes#Architecture <https://wiki.blazegraph.com/wiki/index.php/MavenNotes#Architecture> One issue was that the java8 runtime I was using disliked the fastutil 6.5.16 jar I resolved by downgrading to java7, but I suspect it is better to increase the fastutil version dependency Does jenkins run with java7 or java8? You need to update the IndexMetadata object for each index in the store (or the namespace). // clone the current metadata record for the live index. final IndexMetadata indexMetadata = btree.getIndexMetadata() .clone(); // ... apply changes. // update the metadata associated with the btree btree.setIndexMetadata(indexMetadata); // ... commit the connection. The general answer is "no". Beyond that, the answer is "sometimes" and "it depends". Some properties can be safely modified and their new values will be applied. For example, you could modify the write retention queue capacity for an index (but you need to modify the IndexMetadata object itself to do so) and the new value will take effect. Others can not be safely modified at all. For example, you can not change the RDF Value => IV encoding scheme for a namespace once it has been created (or more narrowly, this can not be changed if the change would cause the mapping to not be 1:1 for any RDF Values that have already been mapped). Some can be changed with more effort. For example, it is possible to enable truth maintenance for a namespace that was created without inference, but you must also take steps to ensure that the resulting namespace is coherent with respect to the entailments. I suspect the more interesting question is, do I need to do a data migration when rolling out performance updates to customers or can I just change some properties. The answer is still the same "it depends", but in this frame it is easier to look at the specific performance optimizations that you would like to deploy (after testing them out) and then at what steps are required to propagate those optimizations to your customers. I am reading https://wiki.blazegraph.com/wiki/index.php/IOOptimization <https://wiki.blazegraph.com/wiki/index.php/IOOptimization> which suggests several property changes I may make to improve performance. I understand that I can change my .properties file to realize these gains on a new journal, by say dumping out the data and reloading it anew. Is there any way to provide the new property values to a pre-existing journal, each of the namespaces seems to retain the property values from when it was created thanks Jeremy |

Dear Reul, according to the standard, in RDF/SPARQL IRIs (a generalisation of URIs, which again generalize URLs) are considered case sensitive — which is, as you noticed, different from the way URLs are typically interpreted by Web servers or the interpretation of email addresses: See http://www.w3.org/TR/2014/REC-rdf11-concepts-20140225/ <http://www.w3.org/TR/2014/REC-rdf11-concepts-20140225/> "Two IRIs are equal if and only if they are equivalent under Simple String Comparison according to section 5.1 <http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3987#section-5.1> of [RFC3987 <http://www.w3.org/TR/2014/REC-rdf11-concepts-20140225/#bib-RFC3987>]”, where section 5.1 of the RFC essentially defines a character-by-character comparison of the IRIs. Hi all, I have a small questions about how the equivalence between 2 URIs are calculated in Blazegraph 1.5.2. I observed that difference in cases in URIs (e.g. use of lower case vs. capitals) had an impact on the calculation of equivalence. In a namespace, I had loaded information about a resource (i.e. <mailto:Que...@wo...>) and this resource has a label to define the human readable name of the resource. Another applications was adding triples including this resource containing slightly different case (i.e. <mailto:que...@wo...>). Based on my experience with mail clients and browser, I would have assumed that Blazegraph would have considered the two variants as a single instance of the same reason. Is there something that I am missing? Kind regards, Quentin Reul Advanced Technology | Global Platform Organization | +1 (917) 891 5490 Email: Que...@wo...<mailto:Que...@wo...> Skype: quentin_reul |

One of my deployments is under-performing, and I fear that I have a run-away query. I go to the status page, and see: Build Version=1.5.3-20151114-maint Accepted query count=12633 Running query count=2 Show queries <https://localhost:2443/bigdata/status?showQueries>, query details <https://localhost:2443/bigdata/status?showQueries=details>. /blockedWorkQueueCount=16 /blockedWorkQueueRunningTotal=33211984 /deadlineQueueSize=0 /operatorActiveCount=40 /operatorHaltCount=213105698 /operatorStartCount=213105738 /operatorTasksPerQuery=5860.348091519085 /queriesPerSecond=1.7561494448212958 /queryDoneCount=36364 /queryErrorCount=14 /queryStartCount=36370. When I click on either link, nothing happens. This happens fairly frequently, and is not a new issue. 1) Is this known about 2) Is there anything I can do to get a clearer picture of whats happening? |

Joakim, This may well be a classpath error as well. Sesame has some tricky nuances about repacking the parsers. Please try including the bigdata-bundled.jar in your WEB-INF/lib and see if it resolves the error. You can then work backwards to identify the offending issue and just pull what you need into your web application. Thanks, --Brad On Wed, Nov 18, 2015 at 1:34 PM, Joakim Soderberg < joa...@bl...> wrote: > Digging further into the problem, from localhost.2015-11-18.log, it seems > that: > > > Joakim, This one is a classpath issue with the it.unimi.dsi jars not in the classpath. Can you verify that all of the jars from the bigdata.war/WEB-INF/lib are in your web application? You could also brute-force it by including the bigdata-bundled.jar in your lib. Thanks, --Brad On Wed, Nov 18, 2015 at 5:37 PM, Joakim Soderberg < joa...@bl...> wrote: > Moved over to ubuntu, Java 8, another error, same location. new > BigdataSail() > > > BlazeGraph(TM) Graph Engine > > Flexible > Reliable > Affordable > Web-Scale Computing for the Enterprise > > Copyright SYSTAP, LLC 2006-2015. Joakim, 1.5.3 is available on our hosted-maven repository [1]. For 2.0, we'll be releasing on maven central under com.blazegraph. Regarding your error, it looks like you are starting the embedded Sail with the same properties used for the NanoSparqlServer. Should that be a SailRepositoryConnection to get a connection to the NSS endpoint? Thanks, --Brad [1] http://www.systap.com/maven/releases/com/bigdata/bigdata/1.5.3/bigdata-1.5.3.pom On Wed, Nov 18, 2015 at 10:41 AM, Joakim Soderberg < joa...@bl...> wrote: > I have been running Blazegraph 1.5.2 in embedded mode > (apache-tomcat-8.0.27) for a few months ( Ill upgrade to 1.5.3 when > available on Maven). > After moving Tomcat to another volume with a minor update > (apache-tomcat-8.0.27) I can no longer run my service. > > The servlet initializes twice.
