Bidwatcher requires a display in which to create its user interface. If
you run it from e.g. a vnc session, you can detach from the vnc process
and leave bidwatcher running in the vnc display.

If you need a plain cli snipe utility, I've found esniper to be quite
capable: http://esniper.sourceforge.net/
