I would like to be able to use bidwatcher in a console
window via ssh, so my request is for a text-only,
ncurses version. This would also be useful for any
system the gtk hasn't been ported to yet.
I'm going to split the ebay interface out of the client and
try to make it generic enough for multiple clients to be
written. Not for a little while though.

My 2: If you do create a backend (which I would appreciate
and use), consider having that backend still in the
bidwatcher gui, i.e. the gui can run either as a whole (like
now), or be a front-end for a backend somewhere. It's easier
for the beginner or the somtimes-user, while still has what
it needs for the poweruser.

This would be great. Then it could be "screen"ed and not
have to a user logined to use it.

I would also appreciate a bidwatcher backend service. So one
could write a web interface, GTK frontend, whatever :)
