I have released a new source package named 0.9.1. Here are the changes:

- Results display and text file include a list sorted by grades.
- Times now checked for correct formation and chronological order.
- Splash window and welcome dialog removed.
- Fix PDF Viewer and Abiword menu items.

Please try it out and report any bugs.

Although there has not been a release for some time, develop of Bibs continues. Several issues brought up in the tracker have been addressed and a new release will be available soon.

I've released a new version of Bibs. In addition to the source package, which will run on any computer that has Python and wxPython, I've also provided a .deb package. I created the package on Intrepid, but it should run on other debian based distros.

As always, please report bugs.

This holiday break I have been putting in some time on improving Bibs. New feature include a tabbed view for working on multiple files, allowing more than seven entrants per team, and more reporting options. These additions are already implemented, they just need to be tested for bugs. As soon as teh kinks are worked out, I'll release the new version.

Bibs has been undergoing bug fixes and code clean-up. Among the fixes, the program will now run properly on wxPython 2.8.4.0. All files have been converted to "import wx" style module importing. Look for a new release soon.

For Windows, set PDF viewer preferences to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" including the quotes.

Set AbiWord preferences to "C:\Program Files\AbiSuite2\AbiWord\bin\AbiWord.exe" including quotes.

Of course this assumes the default installation of these programs was used. Future releases of Bibs will detect the OS and set the default preferences accordingly.

Each file created in Bibs represents ONE race. So, for example, a meet with both a boys and a girls race would need two Bibs files.

Bibs does support multiple divisions within one race. You may have a race with both Division 1 and Division 2 boys racing together and Bibs will separate the divisions when scoring the race as well as provide overall standings.

The next version of Bibs will more clearly explain a Bibs file.

A bug in the toolbar when run on Windows prompted the release of this version on the heels of the previous one. In addition to the bug fix, a few minor changes were made including the addition of a preferences dialog used to set the path to the AbiWord word processor and the pdf viewer.

A bug has been discovered in version 0.8.6. When run on Windows, the toolbar button do not show. This has been fixed and a new release is coming shortly.

This is the initial public release of Bibs. Bibs is currently under development and this version, while functional, should be considered unstable and incomplete.
