BibDesk occasionally crashes on Quit. I can't reliably reproduce, but this only happens when BibDesk has been open for a while -- including a sleep/wakeup cycle. Although I can't reproduce, this behavior has been around for a while, certainly through several OSX updates, and the last BibDesk update (perhaps more). It is low priority, since it doesn't interfere with any workflow and does not jeopardize the bib file. But still.

I'll add more crash reports here as they happen.

The crash seems to happen deep inside PDFKit, probably for the tex previewer. However it does not seem to be triggered by anything called from our code, just some PDF handling that seems to run in the background. That is not something we can do anything about, looks like a bug in PDFKit.

I have perfect reproducibility on my MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019), Big Sur v11.5.2.
Every time I quit I get the crash log coming up, I have attached it.

Apparently, at least on my system (OS 12.0.1), the 1.8.8 update did not fix the problem. I have attached the crash log.

  This is the original problem. It was not adressed in 1.8.8, as I don't see what we could do about it. We don't have control over what goes on inside PDFKit.
