I've got the same exact problem. My ThinkPad has a built-in
Cisco onboard Mini-PCI version of the 350 series, dubbed the
MPI350. Cisco does offer drivers for this card on their site, but
my attempts to insmod mpi350.o have been met with failure
as the kernel versions mismatch:
mpi350.o was compiled for kernel version 2.4.2-2
while this kernel is version 2.4.19-FIRE
If I pass the force option to insmod I get the same and more:
mpi350.o: unresolved symbol tvec_bases_R8631652b
It would seem as if the driver needs to be re-compiled under
this newer kernel version? If so, please tell me how and I will
gladly do whatever it takes, and pass on the new driver for
support in future versions of this killer distro.
Thanks
Dylan Baxter
