Greetings, I sent this like a week ago but it never showed up on the list. I am designing a Security class, and we're planning on using FIRE for the base for self instruction. I need to make several modifications to the image that will be provided. What is the typical method for modifying FIRE? Simply mounting the iso and the compressed iso, entering chrooted, and going to work? I'm wondering if documentation or the build system source is going to show up anytime soon on SF. If anyone has any experience in this area, advice appreciated. Thanks. -Blake -- Blake Matheny "... one of the main causes of the fall of the bma...@pu... Greetings, first I would like to say that I think FIRE is fantastic. What a great acronym, a joke with every usage :-) It is exactly what I needed. I am designing a Security class, and we're planning on using FIRE for the base for self instruction. I need to make several modifications to the image that will be provided. Are there plans to release the build files used for adding/modifying/removing software from the distribution? If not, can someone point me to any documentation on the matter? It may be as easy as loading the cloop module, mounting the fs, and modifying. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. -Blake -- Blake Matheny "... one of the main causes of the fall of the bma...@pu... Brad, Yes a sparc port is on the board, in fact I've just recently gotten my Ultra 10 re-installed to start the process. (Running Aurora linux). It will be a sparc linux bootable with essentially as much of the same feature set as the i386 version as possible. A ppc version is also on the board... I just don't have a Mac laying around anywhere... and my yellow-dog cd's are getting cold. I'd love to see what you've accomplished! Any interest in joining this project as a member? Hi all, great tool. I was in the process of building a solaris/sparc bootable disk to do the same sort of things for solaris/sparc forensics, and figured I'd ask if one was already being worked on before I reinvented the wheel. :-) Is there such a beast? Your disk has a lot of features that are further than what I was envisioning Great stuff! I'd be happy to share my results on how-to if someone hasn't already beat me to it :-) Brad Brad Powell : HOME: br...@fi... My Laptop requires an i/o exclusion in order for the pcmcia cardmgr not to freeze the machine on startup. I don't see a way in Biatchux to boot in single user mode so that the cardmgr is bypassed. Is this correct? Please reply to me and cc the list. Thanks, Cere |

Hi Tommaz, I have made allowances for users to specify whether they want detailed keystroke logging of tty's or NO logging of them at all, which now requires you to enter the Start-Here menu, AddConsoles, and select logging or no logging to enable tty's I know there aren't any docs yet, but it's a public project, for the public to use, just experiment!
