Blue HttpMailProxy is retiring

Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).

From now on, Blue HttpMailProxy isn't going to be actively maintained. (If you're interested in the reasons why, see http://bhttpmail.sourceforge.net/#news\)

I hope you've enjoyed using the software as much as I enjoyed helping to write and support it!

Blue HttpMailProxy Version 0.5.6 Re-released

Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).

The 32-bit Windows binary package for version 0.5.6 (available at http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bhttpmail/HttpMailProxy-v0.5.6.zip\) has been re-released to correct an error in the example configuration file. Unfortunately, the error caused a crash in the application upon startup - a bug which has been fixed and will be present in the next release - so if anyone found this problem prevented them from using the application, please have another go!

Blue HttpMailProxy Version 0.5.4 Ported to POSIX

Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).

Version 0.5.4 has been ported to platforms that support the POSIX standard. The updated source code for version 0.5.4 can be downloaded from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bhttpmail/HttpMailProxy_Source-v0.5.4.zip.

Since POSIX covers so many platforms, I have not posted any binary builds (apart from the existing Win32 build). To build the source code, you will need a recent version of Scons (available from http://www.scons.org\) and g++ (I have successfully built the code with 3.4 and 4.1). Hopefully, it should be reasonably simple - I know that you are a resourceful lot!... read more

This release concentrates on the addition of a number of features. Feature request 987457 (configurable HTTPMail server list) was implemented, allowing connection to custom HTTPMail servers, enabling deployment in corporate environments that run their own servers. Feature request 1092444 was also implemented, providing the option of marking messages as read on the server when using the POP proxy. Additionally, optional subnet masking on IP address connection rules was implemented, allowing finer control when providing access for multiple users on a network. Details of how to use these features can be found in the Setup section of the Docs/Install.txt file included in the file release.... read more

Blue HttpMailProxy Version 0.5.2 Service Interruption!

Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).

Unfortunately, a bug was discovered in version 0.5.2 earlier and I had to take it down. An obvious case of Murphy's law in action, it's fixed now and the release is back up. However, if you were one of the unlucky few who got the faulty version, please accept my apologies! If you can bring yourselves to, through the hatred and rage, grab the new version. (For reference, the version number on the file should be 0.5.2.1, landing me right back in slightly ridiculous version numbering territory...)... read more

Version 0.5.2 is another bugfixing release. It fixes a severe bug in the way emails with attachments were treated, which used to make it impossible to work with emails with large attachments in Mozilla Thunderbird. As with the last release, a lot of work has been going on under-the-bonnet/hood (delete as applicable) in order to improve the overall robustness and stability of the application. This release also marks the return of a slightly more sensible version number...... read more
