Ryan Swaney has a weblog on his site (http://www.xerzes.org/log/) which shows bgs running under WinXP with lemontwist skin. Same WinAPI bug - ~20 missing lines at the bottom of the window :(
After I made and uploaded lemontwist skin I found that some gfx elements don't get displayed if you are loading skin from command line...
I will doublecheck that in new version which will come in couple of monthes.

Finally I'm going home with new harddrive where I will install linux and start developing everything from scratch. That's not the only good news - finally some web designer SHOWED some results. We'll have new site soon. Meanwhile please check projects which I maintain. They can be found in my profile (http://sourceforge.net/users/emulynx/).
Ryan Swaney (http://www.xerzes.org) has developed new skin for bgs 0.7. Too bad my mailbox lost couple of emails. Stay tuned.
New year eve was full of real world stuff. Party time!
I've asked some guys to try to port bgs to *nix and they reported about several problems. I think that I'll set up linux at home at second harddrive and start developing bgs 0.8 from scratch partially supporting bgs 0.7 (i'll try to fix last bugs and use 0.7 branch only for some beta testing purposes like joypad/filters). MSVC has too much problems with ANSI C compatibility :(
Since I was getting a lot of requests for implementing DirectInput joypad support, I spent an hour on that stuff today. I've succeeded in couple of things, but I'll need to work a bit more on it. I'm planning to include preliminary joypad support in 0.7 final.
I was also playing with doublesizing of background. I made some progress on it and default skin in 640x480 looks very nice and sharp. I've also tried to implement doublesizing routines for other static pictures, but I did something wrong with palletes/colors and they look wrong. No doublesizing is planned until 0.8.
Well, here's full list of know bugs for current release:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=524187&group_id=69336&func=browse
Some of these things are already fixed (8bpp version of commie). bgs 0.7 final probably will appear ~28th of December, 2002.
I was planning to make cool release that x-mas. Too bad I lost almost 5 days last week. I was watching movie one evening, I was capturing some video stuff another evening, I was playing counter-stirke another evening and then I was watching another movie in cinema (Transporter really rocks).
I decided to crank on bgs yesterday and I spent almost 6 hours fixing bugs, finishing skin... But as usually, in last moment something goes wrong. I screwed up main skin while adding new control variables for handling different things. Last skins from blueorange.com were screwed up a bit too. ... read more
Well, release is coming. I've almost fixed most of the bugs (except annoying "19 missing lines in win32 gui mode" sdl glitch). Some of the features are moved to version 0.8 since I didn't have time to fix all of that stuff. Some of the new plans include multilayer rendering system which will allow to create crazy looking skins.
Ah, skins...
Thanks goes to M P Zuckman (blueorange.com) for all his efforts.
Well, yesterday night I spent catching cheaters on our counter-strike server (cs.delfi.lv if anyone is interested). I was sleeping till 6PM so I wasn't able to work on...

Cool, eh?
Thanks goes to M P from blueorange.com.
I've updated readme (http://bgs.sf.net/files/readme.current). You can see changed priorities and latest progress with keyboard and particles.
Check latest readme (http://bgs.sourceforge.net/files/readme.current) to see what I've done lately. Now I'll be able to type whatever I want on the screen, not only digits. I was planning to do it for a long time but never had a chance to get my hands on 8x8 fonts. Too bad I accidentaly got ATASCII (Atari ASCII) and C64 fonts and not PC :D
I was struggling with sourceforge last night and didn't have a chance to work on binary beta release which I wanted to do today. I'll not do it anyway since I'm using portions of code from another projects and I need to include notes of that in my readme which still is at HOME. Shame on me, I forgot to copy it for second time.
I've steadily added one of the latest packagede releases to "Files". You can find latest releases here: http://bgs.sourceforge.net/releases/ .
Finally I've uploaded something here. You can look at old screenshots and en_joy them. bgs 0.7 is coming on Christmas, 2002.
