I have BGINFO4X running under Gnome, in IMMODE, but the screen output only shows the default output, changing the CONF files has no effect. Switching to RTMODE and the CONF changes are output to the desktop correctly.
I installed BGINFO4X on Windows to check my understanding and everything runs as I expect.
I have hunted through the files, but cannot work out where this Linux default output is being produced from or how to get the changed CONF files to output my edits.
Any ideas please.

I am doing some home testing and thought it might be because I am trying it on my kicked about Kali build. So I rebuilt it to a clean Kali build and installed InageMagic-6.8.8-8, uname -a outputs 'Linux ilak 3.7-trunk-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.7.2-0+kali8 x86_64 GNU/Linux'.
So now I get a different outcome. Running bginfo4x after the rebuild and installing IM, I getting different symptoms. The background Kali wallpaper changes to a plain colours background with no info (I understand a wallpaper is required for it to work). Stopping bginfo4x returns the wallpaper, but it has changed to the bginfo4x Happygnome wallpaper. Then it just repeats this plain/Happygnome cycle as bginfo4x is started and stopped.
It looks like it is getting the gsettings reversed, but that is me speculating.
Thx.

Hello,
Did you changed CLIENT/LINUX/OUT.CONF?
Which OS do you have?
Can you try to change CLIENT/OTHEROS/OUT.CONF?
Thanks.

A bit more info.
Manually settings a colours background results in bginfo4x having no effect (as I would expect).
Manually settings a default background results in the above reported issue.
Manually setting the Happygnome wallpaper results in the above reported issue.
bginfo4x --print shows the CUSTOM/CLIENT/LINUX CONF files being processed.
Hello, thanks for the information.
What version of gnome do you have?
Gnome-session --gnome-version output is 'gnome-session 3.4.2.1'.
Thx.
Stop!
I had shutdown, then saw your post and replied about gnome.
Did another quick check and it now works. I had played a tiny bit with some bginfo4x files, will check in more detail tomorrow and let you know.
Thanks.
