As part of the software workshop, you will need to perform basic source control operations. The first step in getting set up is to check out the source code in this repository using a Subversion source control client, such as TortoiseSVN. When you check out the repository, be sure to use the following repository URL:
https://svn.code.sf.net/p/best-practices-software/code/trunk
For details on how to use TortoiseSVN, see the workshop notes, or the TortoiseSVN support pages.
The next steps will require you to make changes to the copy of the source code you checked out to your computer. If you have not already done so, send me your SourceForge username so I can give you permissions to modify the source code.
Once you have the source control checked out and you have permissions to modify the code, you need to practice the typical source control steps:
