A scientific way of selecting the samples for the compilation of Bench mark dataset is proposed in the framework using multistage sampling strategies. The bench mark dataset will be beneficial for checking the suitability of whole genome sequence compression algorithms. The proposed dataset selects 1105 prokaryotes, 200 plasmids, 164 viruses and 65 eukaryotes.
