Sometimes--three times in the past day and a half--an e-mail
will come in, and once it has downloaded the whole e-mail, the
processor usage stays at 100% indefinitely. I can't kill the
mail daemon even using ProcessorController.
Also, it appears to mess up the Tracker, because if I open
StyledEdit and go Save As, the Save As window will freeze up
after a click or two. (Whereas if I open an existing text
file, edit, save, there's no problem.)
Going to restart, the shutdown process will hang at "Tidying
things up a bit..." And once I've restarted, it'll keep doing
this whenever the piece of mail comes in, unless I beat it to
it via webmail and delete the thing. Strange thing is, which
messages cause this seem pretty random. Yesterday I got two e
-mails from my algebra prof, both were normal-looking; it let
the first one through fine, but then ten minutes later started
getting stuck on the second one.
The second e-mail that this happened on was sent to a large
group, and the third was that Nigerian offering me yet another
lucrative business deal (must be because I use BeOS.)
I wasn't having this happen at all on 2.9.5 or 2.9.6 or
whatever it was that I had before I upgraded to the latest on
BeBits on Feb 4.
Then again, it could be something else, since my "new e-mail"
query got trashed a couple days ago unexplainedly...couldn't
see it in Tracker/Terminal but it wouldn't let me make a new
one with the same name as what it had been, either...
