removing local copy of email deleted on server

If I attempt to open an email via the deskbar which has
been partially downloaded (due to setting limit on
download size) and subsequently deleted on the server I
receive notification that the email is not available on the
server but no window opens with what is available or the
option to delete the local fragment. If the notification
window is hidden and no other window appears it feels
as though the process hasn't completed.
(Possibly a request for an enhancement?)
