Solving the "Unidentified Developer" Error

(FIXED - as of version 0.1.9, the userdata folder has now been moved to a place inside the 'Documents' folder where this issue does not arise)

If you have trouble saving or exporting:

If you try to save or export files in BeepComp under a standard user account in Windows vista and later, you might have trouble where you can't seem to write or modify files to the default 'userdata' folder. If you experience this issue, you can find solutions here:

Running as Administrator
Locating the Mirrored Folder.

But this really calls for redesigning the software. I should change the default userdata location to where any users can easily access. I should also redesign the file dialogs so the user can access more user-friendly locations like Desktop and Documents easily.

I really apologize if you had to wrestle with this issue for a long time!

Version 0.1.7

FIXED items:

Issue: WAV/OGG export function was not working in the initially uploaded release.
Solution: This has been fixed - if you experience this error, please replace with the currently uploaded installer.

Issue: Quick-saving needs improvement. If you save a file once, start a new file, and choose to "quick-save", the new file gets saved to the previous file (the last file saving was done to). This would be confusing to many users.
Solution: This has been fixed in the next release (maintenance release) version 0.1.8, which will be released shortly. Meanwhile, please be aware of this when you start or load a new file.

Unfinished items:

Version 0.1.5

FIXED items:

Issue: A bug prevents the program from pasting text at the very top position, and copying or pasting while moving the cursor outside of the window fast sometimes causes crashes
Solution: This problem is clean in the newer versions. The blog post about the initial patch to this problem is here.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that might have been caused.
I try to test the program thoroughly, but it's not easy to be perfect...
So if you spot any issues, I would always really appreciate you letting me know! :)
