I'm always frustrated after typing a long message and looking up to see a mistake and accidentally hitting ctrl-up and wiping out my unsent text while trying to move back to fix it. (I know, maybe I should not make mistakes :))
I'd like to be able to either
1) disable it altogether
2) have it prompt me if there is already text in the input area
3) add the text in the input area to the history so I can get it back if I mess up.

    No... You are right, it is very frustrating thing if you accidentally hit ctrl-up...
    I can develop solution 1 and 3 ... thank you very much for your feedback!

    Fixed in source version 1493. It will be available in the next beta 5.8.5 or stable release 5.8.6.

    Solution 3: ok
    Solution 1: change beebeep.ini the option ChatMessageHistorySize to 0.
