Hi from long-time windows user of beebeep. Recently tryed it on Kubuntu. Startup takes 5 sec (up to the moment when tray icon is shown). Too long, i think. Nothing interesting in logs. The hole system starts in 15 sec, Gimp - in 2.2 sec.
Hello. The starts usually takes 1-2s with Debian bookwork (i5 9series). I have to try with Kubuntu. Which version of Kubuntu do you use? Which version of BeeBEEP (qt4 or qt5)? Thank you.

Found that 5.6.8 starts two times faster then the latest

Hello! I try to remember ... 2 things:
1) Slow UI: update your driver of graphic card (if you use nvidia or radeon)
2) Maybe a network issue when qt try to search your configuration... I fixed it, but now I cannot remember... stay tuned :-)
