Can the *.dic files be supplied zipped or tar, gzip please.

I'm having the same problem. Zaurus SL-5500, trying to
download dictionaries with IE. They show up as text. I tried
saving them as text and then renaming them (taking off ".txt"
and using ".dic") but they are not recognized as valid by
I have to think there's a simple solution, that I'm doing
something wrong. Any ideas? I agree with the first poster
that a zipped version should solve my proble,.
I am not a developer but a new user and I have a
I am having some success myself but it has been a
struggle. One solution that has worked is connecting
the Z to the internet (cf card modem) and download
directly to an SD card. (it won't always download to the
assigned address. One ends up putting it somewhere
on the SD card then moving it to the correct
destination). The default address for the smaller files
is at /tmp which works OK. One can then use the file
manager to move it to the correct
destination: /mnt/card/QtPalmtop/share/zbedic. (I
created the new folder "zbedic") This is sometimes
tricky as it won't always paste when you want it to.
Then the address needs to be added on the Zbedic
application which comes with an extra /opt in the
closest matching address it searches for.
The English dictionary is just too big to go into /tmp
(almost 11M). I didn't have enough memory. I managed
to change the default address and downloaded it to
directly to /mnt/card/QtPalmtop/share and then move
it to the /zbedic folder. Everything seems to function at
this point but there's got to be an easier way?!

This seems to be quite old issue refering to older version
of zbedic (.dic files). Therefore I am closeing this bug.
Feel free to reopen this bug if the same happens in the new
version (0.9.1 and later).
