There needs to be some way for users to specify
preferences. This can be used to do things like change
the colors, behavior (e.g. auto-sort), etc.

This could also be used to turn the Logger on and off
in interesting ways.

    Another nice preference would be the default gemoetry of a
    newly-undocked panel.
