I must be missing something pretty basic.

I simply want to get started.  I’ve downloaded the executable jar and I’ve started the shell.  I want to run the most basic test in the shell.  First I add my classpath

addClassPath(“Absolute/Path/Name/To/Classes”);

I then print it to confirm I have it right

print (getClassPath);

Then I want to call a static method in one of my classes and print the string that it returns.

print(package.class.getString());

My problem is that this command simply hangs, and if I try entering another semicolon on the next line (maybe it’s waiting for more input I thought…) I get

“Console internal  error: cannot output ...”

Can anyone tell me what I’m missing.  This seemed like a pretty intuitive way of approaching things to me but I get the impression that everyone else got it working just fine with not problem.

Thanks.
