BeanKeeper offers a very simple and clear transaction model for itself. What we plan is to have different plugins (or bindings) into other software that uses some other API for transaction management, for example JTA, Spring, etc. So BeanKeeper does not have any bindings yet out-of-the-box, but you don't have to use unmanaged transaction either. You just create a binding for the specific container you are trying to use, like Spring. There were already projects, where BeanKeeper was used with AOP only (with a @Tx annotation on methods) for example. > Thanks for your help. > Frank Robert. |

Hi, Coming from Java EE background I would prefer to use managed transactions + persistence (i.e. via Spring/hibernate). I am trying to understand how best to handle persistence with beankeeper. I browsed through the documentation, but I am not that clear. Looks like I am to follow the unmanaged route, or? My intention is the separate the Business Logic from those infrastructure related stuff. Currently I am exploring more on the Domain Driven Design, which delegates persistence related operations to a Repository. In the Repository I would then forward persistence operations to beankeeper's store. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks for your help. Frank |

Frank Weber írta: > Hallo Róbert, > > OK, it works and the Contacts example has been reorganized for maven. > I have done this with Netbeans 6.5. > > Not sure about the project and package names? > groupId: beankeeper.examples > artifactId: contacts > > Where do you propose to upload and store it? Cool, thanks. I think you could just send it to me, and I will include it in the doc/examples section. Alternatively, you could send it as a patch to the devel list. > Regards, > Frank Thank you for contributing, Robert. |

There is a sample application, which is also referenced in the documentation, I did not create a maven version for that. Maybe you can add a feature request on sourceforge for that. If you want, you could even do the sample yourself :) I would welcome the help. > Regards, > Frank Robert. |

Hi, I browsed through the tutorial, it looks very promising. Is there by chance a maven sample application available? Regards, Frank |

Because the most recent hourly build is the release itself, the two are now the same, but this is temporary. You are safe if you download from the download section and not from the hourly build. > Kind Regards, > Frank Robert. |

Hi all, There is a new release of beankeeper available at the usual sources, either at the web page, sourceforge or freshmeat. This release focused on changing the technologies behind beankeeper and trying to prepare the distribution to a wider audience of developers. The changes are: - Migrated from java-cup to javacc for parser generation - Migrated from junit to testng - Migrated from ant to maven - Modified sources to pass checkstyle audit - Fixed a memory leak bug Also, as you probably noticed. The mailing lists were migrated from the old server to sourceforge. The website was migrated too to a new location with much more bandwidth. Much effort was put into enabling new developers to join the project, to make the project more transparent. To this end, a new page was added to track development: http://beankeeper.netmind.hu/development.php Also, the planning and execution of the releases will follow a defined worklflow in the future, all described in the wiki at sourceforge. Patch submission workflows are also defined there, together with a description on how to join the project. Robert. |
