#6 Empty Opteron sockets with occupied memory slots!

Hi, this is Tim Mattox... you've got my e-mail address. ;-)

When trying to maximize the memory density in a cluster, the BDR
selected quad Opteron motherboards and populated most of their
resulting memory slots, however, it didn't populate all the CPU slots.
Thus, some of those memory sticks are not connected to a memory
controller, and thus are not actually usable.

Here's the settings on the web form that shows the error:
256-512 GB ram per cluster
1MB or less per node
16MB OS per node
cache-friendly
no swap
no disks
latency is not a concern
latency is not a concern
10Mb/s or less
more than 5 other nodes
cold spares, 1 for every 16
number of nodes is unconstrained
1 rack
power is not an issue
500,000 dollars
50 GLOPFS minimum
1*1/Cost + 10*GFLOPS
no component limitations
