I have recently started experimenting with the GDB BDM driver (http://sourceforge.net/projects/bdm/). I started with the m68k-bdm-20030921.tar.bz2 snapshot from http://www.uclinux.org/pub/uClinux/m68k-elf-tools/gcc-3/ This seemed to work ok for a MCF5272 target (Motorola's MCF5272C3 evaluation board). I've now switched to a custom MCF5282 target and I'm running into problems. bdmreset seems to work in that it resets my target. bdm-chk performs the registers test (everything passes) and then it fails with a "Target Bus Error" on the SRAM test. With GDB (v6.0 w/ bdm patches), I can sort of control my target via the bdm interface, but I've run into some problems. I've re-run my experiments with the most recent SourceForge CVS bdm code. I'm still running into the same problems. I'm guessing that the issue probably has to do with the various processor control/configuration registers being set up incorrectly, being different than the MCF5272, etc. I should have some time this week to look at the bdm code to see if I can figure out how to make it work. However, before I dive into that, has anyone else tried getting the bdm interface working with a MCF5282 target? If anyone else is currently working on GDB bdm support for the MCF5282, I'd like to coordinate with you.
