Dragoncode is able to read and write Dragoncards.

A Dragoncard is an identity card for your fursona. It contains a magnetic stripe on which you can store your code, id and other information. Due to the length of the code, I recommend not to use standard ID1 cards. Use 90x65mm sized cards. You can find a template (gimp xcf-format) in the files section.

As magstripe use a piece of VHS-tape. To get the correct placement, draw a line on a sheet of paper. Lay a credit card on that line and mark the beginning of the magstripe, then draw a second line. Cut the VHS tape about 2cm longer than your card and add glue. Make sure to use the right side. The side facing away from the center of the spool is the magnetizable side! Lay the tape on the second line and the card on the first line. Press it well. Then bend the overstanding pieces and also press them well to the back side. Now add some carton and stick the top side.

In order to write your card, you need the RXTXcomm library to access the serial port. You also need a MSR206-compatible card reader. I recommend the MSR605. For VHS tape set it to LoCo.
