You're not telnetting to the Linux server from a Windows machine are you? Windows will add bogus chars to your input. I've had that problem before. Try using a terminal window on the server itself or if you're going to telnet then telnet from another UNIX machine.

I used make to get a working copy of bcrypt on our Linux cluster, but whenever I attempt to decrypt a .bfe file it gets as far as asking for the encryption key but does not appear to respond to what I enter. I thought maybe it was simply not echoing the password to the prompt, but if I enter the password anyway it eventually says the password is incorrect. This seems to imply that it responds to pressing return, but not to any other keys.

Has anyone run across any similar problems, or has any suggestions as to what is going wrong?
