A beta of Bazaar 7 will be available shortly (within the hour!) but if you don't want to bother installing the system, you can follow the link below to see what options are available to the admin.

Note, however, that not ALL options are available here. You'll need to be the root user to get at other things like user management, but we feel this test area will give you a glimpse of what you can do with the system.... read more

Take a look around, create an account, post messages, and more. We are getting closer and closer to the release of this version. It'll knock your socks off.

If you've tried Bazaar before and found it seriously lacking in any department (installation, maintenance, customizability), then you're going to want to try the next release, which is going to be a major revision. A lot of the code is being rewritten to change Bazaar from being discussion forum-centric to groupware-centric.

The next release is going to make it easier to write modules for Bazaar. The architecture has changed to make use of a hierarchical storage and permission system. You can now create categories and sub-categories for your discussion boards and chat areas. Additionally, modules will allow support for such things as user notepads and voting booths. Bazaar is a multifunction system that does Web Conferencing, IRC chat, link management, and sgml publication (for the ICAAP system). Bazaar uses MySQL at the back end and features customizable interfaces, API, multiple languages and more.

This release brings more features such as file attachments, private mail system, better templating, plus more. See the CHANGELOG for details.

Version 5.00 is available. Features internal database changes, speed enhancements, new board types, customization options and more system and board options.

Installer cleaned up. Pay attention to the installer. Fundamental changes in the database may make migration difficult. BACKUP your database and old file tree before installing.
