Hi Natalia! Thanks very much for your reply. So, if I switch off the JIT on Linux, I'll get decent startup times? I don't notice any serious performance problems under Windows. One thing though, how much could possibly be cached? If it takes 30 seconds under Windows under VMware and the emulated machine is pretty snappy, what exactly is being cached under Linux in order to take over 5 minutes to boot? Surely all this would do is add an initial 30 seconds or so before the boot process begins. Cheers, Jason.
