It does fix that problem.

AFAIK, there is just one non-user-friendly "bug" remaining: fullscreen 
DGA won't work if the requested visual in DGA mode doesn't match the 
actuall root visual. Actually, that's the case for me where a 
DirectColor visual is requested whereas the current visual is TrueColor. 
This is weird as in windowed mode, I can get a DirectColor visual 
however.
