To use ethernet with basilisk you need to install an extra driver from Ethernet drivers\win2k (this also works in XP.

Documentation is located in the folder called windows specific documents (

      - Log in with administrator rights. After installation, user rights suffice.
      - Open Network and Dial-up Connections in Control Panel.
      - Right click your Connection.
      - Click Properties, or click the Properties button.
      - In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click Install.
      - Select "Protocol", and then click "Add"
      - Click "Have disk".
      - Browse to the folder where you unzipped files "B2Win2k.inf" and the
Windows 2000 version of the "B2ETHER.SYS" driver. Click OK.
      - Select "Basilisk II Ethernet driver" from the list and click OK.
      - Close the dialog. Wait until the binding analysis is complete,
      - Reboot the computer (recommended).

      - After reboot, select the desired network card in the Basilisk GUI
        ethernet page.
      - Log in with administrator rights. After installation, user rights suffice.
      - Open Network and Dial-up Connections in Control Panel.
      - Click Local Area Connection.
      - Click the File menu, and then click Properties, or click the Properties button.
      - In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click Install.
      - Select "Protocol", and then click "Add"
      - Click "Have disk".

      - Close the dialog. Wait until the binding analysis is complete,
      - Reboot the computer (recommended).
      - After reboot, select the desired network card in the Basilisk II Preferences Ethernet page. (select network card NDIS driver, its some longish hexadecimal number)

Inside basilisk you have to set a separate IP adres in the TCP/IP settings (like 192.168.0.1)

      Good luck,

Ok, I got the file installed. Now I have some options on GUI:

      Network card NDIS driver
      Multicast packets
      Identifying self:

and then once those are done, how do i set it up in the Mac OS itself? I have to sets of Basilsk II on my computer. One has the TCP/IP control panel. The other has MacTCP. Which one should I be using and how do I go about getting the settings to put in them? Sorry, I'm still learning all of this still. I thank you for help, I reall do. I've been messing with this for almost 4 days now >_>

        On the windows side set:
-ndis: choose the hexadecimal number shown (not "none")
        -multipacket: choose the second option
        -Identifying: same mac adress

On the basilisk side: choose the one with tcp-ip control panel.

        Settings for the control panel:
        -Connection: choose Ethernet
        -Configure manually
-enter IP address (not the same as your computer is using. Take something like 192.168.0.1)
-enter gateway, same as your computer is using)
-enter dns, same as your computer is using

Save it all and you'll be on your way.

If you want appletalk too, you have to select connect through ethernet in the control panel.
