on starting MPW Shell
(http://developer.apple.com/tools/mpw-tools/)
BasiliskII crashes.
this is reproduceable under debian linux with basilikII
0.8, 9.1, and the actual CVS version. i couldn't figure
out any relation between the reported problem and the
used operating system version (MacOS 7.5.3 or 8.0) and
the used ROM.
there are two forms of theis problem:
a)
simulating an 68040 the whole emulation crashes reporting
on the linux shell:
WARNING: Unknown VideoDriverStatus(25)
WARNING: Unknown VideoDriverStatus(11)
WARNING: Unknown VideoDriverStatus(22)
WARNING: Unknown VideoDriverStatus(23)
WARNING: Unknown VideoDriverStatus(29)
MacsBug reports error #27
(full BackTrace/ErrorReport attached)
b)
simulating an 68030 the emulated system isn't
responding anymore (no MacBugs anymore) and on the
linux comand it looks like a loop reporting:
Illegal instruction: 4e7a at 02fcb518
Illegal instruction: 4e7a at 02fcb518
Illegal instruction: 4e7a at 02fcb518
...
is there a way to solve this problem?
it would be nice to have a free develpment systems
running on basiliskII!:)

I don't think MacsBug is supposed to work in Basilisk II
yet. Could you try MPW without loading the MacsBug extension?

MacsBug is not supported under Basilisk.
