I have a game I want to play and when I try to load it
up I get this annoying thing about "can't find Monitor
tool" then it says "ID = -3"

I don't know if this is a bug or I'm just an idiot,
but does anybody know what I can do to fix it?

Your game probably requires an 8 bit display but you are
running the emulator at a different, probably higher, color
depth. Basilisk II has to use the same color depth as the
host OS. So decrease the color depth to 8 bit before
running Basilisk and see if your game doesn't work.
The Monitors&Sound tool will not work in BasiliskII.

Are you trying to play Escape Velocity? I had the same
problem but it goes away if you set your screen mode (in the
Basilisk GUI) to 640x480 (or something like that).

I suppose you talk about Escape Velocity Override??
Do you, if not it is a bigger problem...

Try setting the Screen Resolution to 800x600 256 colors in
the Basilisk II options under "Screen". But i have the same
problem with EV Nova and it cannot be fixed like this.

Basilisk should support several resolutions at one time (to be
    shosen under the MacOS.

I can get around this by using 800x600 8-bit (256 Colour)
screen mode (the game was Escape Velocity, as has been
    summised).

However, it is still in greyscale. (oh well).
