I'd like to know if it is possible to add new characters to an open basic application. I need to know if it's possible to add the character to an open basic application. I don't have any experience with open basic programming, so maybe this is a very stupid question.

Hm... OpenBasic? You mean OpenBasic interpreter? Or You mean some specific BASIC interpreter? There are quite few BASIC interpreters/compilers here that "understand" other characters... Especially latin1 (swedish) :)
I live in Sweden and I use swedish layout in YaBASIC (www.yabasic.de) programs.
