What does "checking for gcc .. no"  up to "no acceptable C compiler found
in $PATH" suggest to you?

bashdb doesn't strictly need a C compiler so I have changed current git
sources http://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=git&group_id=61395 not to give an
error when one isn't found.
