Support for bashdb is I believe in the current emacs CVS, so starting
with emacs 21.4, presumably, this won't be needed.

I've added a test for to see that emacs version is in the range 21.0
.. 21.3 and that's in rebash CVS right now. Here's the diff in case
you want to apply separately until a release:
