OK, I have traced this.

From the file:
menus/configure.sh

the function 'change_option' passes the parameters

to

func/configfunc.sh

Line 55.

The second arg is the help text from the lang files assigned to

typeset prompt

...

echo -e "${BBINFOLINE}\n${prompt}"

prints it, but seems to ignore the embedded {COLOR} options from the
lang. file[s].
