I'm imagining that Sourceforge has facilities to auto-email you if someone makes code updates, discussion posts or generates a change request tickets.
These page offer some options, I will look into...
Monitoring
https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourceforge/wiki/Monitoring
Watching
https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourceforge/wiki/Activity%20watches
Wait a sec, the info there wasn't too helpful, I'm suspecting some of these facilities are out of date? Or perhaps only work for older sourceforge projects?
For example, I can't see a 'Develop' tab in this project (older projects have them). The 'Monitor' link is supposed to be on this 'Develop' tab...
This sourceforge ticket thread discusses other people's woes on this:

Perhaps the newer facility is called "Update Notifications"
Hopefully that does the trick... We'll see... Shame this hasn't been as straightforward as I had hoped... Ah well, learning curves are always like this I suppose... Many frustrating moments to endure :)
Aah cool, I'm seeing email notifications for these blog entries in my email client now. That's a good sign... Haven't seen any email notification for code commits yet, perhaps I should do a dummy commit, just to assure myself it works...
Nope, I didn't get email notifications for code commits/pushes. Aah, I've noticed that if you click the "Code" icon in the sourceforge menu toolbar, to the right to the "History" link, there is an "RSS Feed" icon. If I click this, I believe I'll be able to subscribe to an RSS feed that will keep inform me of any code updates anyone makes, great!
