#17 Remove avalon dependency
Avalon is a dead project since over a decade. I recently removed Avalon from Apache FOP. But sometimes FOP is used in conjunction with barcode4j. See the refered ticket for details.
At first glance, the barcode4j project also (mainly) uses the Configuration stuff of avalon. Hence, you could take the same road that I took: Clean-room reimplementation of the Avalon parts that are still in use.
It seems barcode4j is not active.
It stopped at svn rev 372
I forked a version at github https://github.com/chunlinyao/barcode4j for my needs.
Recently I am considering to remove avalon from it. But I am not familiar with avalon.
This has been done on my fork https://github.com/SingingBush/barcode4j also with other improvements. Releases are available in maven central:
