Hi, What about xmodmap -p ??? you must have Alt_L inside Mod1 section and don't have Alt_L in any other m= od. If u see for example what Mod4 has Alt_L, u should do this: $ xmodmap -e "clear Mod4" $ xmodmap -e "add Alt_L =3D Mod1" I hope that will help.
