I just upgraded glibc to 2.3.3, and BadWM alt+key combination shortcuts don't work. Alt+mouse stuff works, however. I checked xmodmap -p, and the problem isn't there. Reverting back to glibc 2.3.2 fixed it. I'm running Slack 10. I hope that a fix is available soon.. I am unable to use the latest alsamixer until I get glibc 2.3.3. -- Will, Administrator of The Engine Network http://www.the-engine.org "I only came for the grape juice." |

Hi, What about xmodmap -p ??? you must have Alt_L inside Mod1 section and don't have Alt_L in any other m= od. If u see for example what Mod4 has Alt_L, u should do this: $ xmodmap -e "clear Mod4" $ xmodmap -e "add Alt_L =3D Mod1" I hope that will help. Hi Alexander, thanks for the reply. I ran xmodmap -p and got: xmodmap: up to 3 keys per modifier, (keycodes in parentheses): shift Shift_L (0x32), Shift_R (0x3e) lock Caps_Lock (0x42) control Control_L (0x25), Control_R (0x6d) mod1 Alt_L (0x40), Alt_L (0x7d), Meta_L (0x9c) mod2 Num_Lock (0x4d) mod3 mod4 Super_L (0x7f), Hyper_L (0x80) mod5 Mode_switch (0x5d), ISO_Level3_Shift (0x7c) It dosent seem to be the problem unless I have misunderstood your post. Also I am using the 0.1.1 source. Any other suggestions? Thanks again. Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo! Movies. http://au.movies.yahoo.com |

Hi, You have BadWM 0.1 code? sure? If so, check xmodmap, maybe Alt_L is being bloked by Mod* (usualy true) when Alt_L is used by more than one Mod that could lag a bit. Do this: $ xmodmap -p If u see Alt_L in MORE than one Mod -- do: $ xmodmap -e "Clear ModN" where ModN is the Mod number (e.g Mod1, mod2...) Leave Mod1 unchanged. If u have older version of BadWM -- u could do the same but leave Alt_L in Mod4 -- clear Mod1 and others what have Alt_L.
